VMRO-DPMNE remained the only parliamentary party that defended National Public Prosecutor Marko Zvrlevski after BESA announced they would vote for the dismissal of the public prosecutor. According to MP Fadilj Zendeli, Zvrlevski was dismissed with the formation of the Special Prosecutor’s Office and the parliamentary procedure for his dismissal is mere formality. Thursday, the ruling majority MPs renounced their right to speak on the item and called on the opposition to do the same and move on to voting. However, the VMRO-DPMNE MPs said they were not prepared to such a step until the legal amendments with which they demand that the opposition propose the new Prosecutor are reviewed at a session. Of nearly 90 MPs who have applied to speak, around 15 MPs used their right in the course of Thursday. The session continues on Friday.
