VMRO-DPMNE confirms that party leader Nikola Gruevski has requested a minimum of 20 bodyguards as he feels threatened, but they would not specify where the threats come from and why they have not been reported to the police TV 24 reports. “The VMRO-DPMNE President has asked for increased number of security people, primarily owing to the dynamic in work and the need for them to work in shifts, so naturally they would not all be at disposal at the same moment,” VMRO-DPMNE said. In its request to the Interior Minister they demand an assessment to be made about the existence of high degree of threat on his life and personal integrity. The MoI also confirmed the information, but it has not given answer as to whether the bodyguards will be assigned.
