What the Special Prosecutor’s Office (SPO) is doing is illegal, VMRO-DPMNE leader and former PM Nikoa Gruevski said following Wednesday’s two-hour interrogation at the SPO. “Their mandate has expired and these pre-investigative procedures represent ill-treatment of citizens,” he added. As Gruevski pointed out, he was summoned to the SPO in order for the public to be defocused from the real problems, which, in his view, are the deal with Bulgaria, the failure to increase doctors’ wages, the change of Macedonia’s name PM Zoran Zaev is trying to agree upon and the minimum wage issue. “I have always worked in line with the laws,” the VMRO-DPMNE leader stressed. However, he didn’t reveal the reason for the interrogation because it’s about a pre-investigative procedure. Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva stated that Gruevski had been summoned in the capacity of witness for a financial pre-investigative procedure run by the SPO.
