VMRO-DPMNE Continues Protests against Court Decisions

Members and supporters of VMRO-DPMNE at Tuesday’s protest before the Ministry of Justice voiced revolt with the new decisions of the court and the detention for six MPs from their ranks. They called for urgent release of the remanded people, qualifying the remand measure as political revenge. The protest was also attended by party leader Nikola Gruevski. “What happened today is unseen, not only in the history of Macedonia but in a broader context. Remanding 5 % of the overall parliament composition i.e. 12 % of the VMRO-DPMNE MP group and its coalition is nothing else but installing dictatorship,” said Aleksandar Nikolovski of VMRO-DPMNE. One of the founders Mile Jakovvleski assessed the pressures on VMRO-DPMNE as aimed at destroying the party, which was impossible, in his view.
