FM Dimitrov holds Joint meeting With counterpart Kotzias and Mediator Nimetz

On Tuesday, FM Nikola Dimitrov held a joint meeting with Greek counterpart Nikos Kotzias and UN envoy Matthew Nimetz in Vienna. After the constructive meeting, held at the UN Office in the Austrian capital, which is part of the efforts to reach a mutually acceptable resolution to the name issue, the FMs agreed to continue the efforts under UN auspices. The meetings on Tuesday and Monday are assessed as a start of the serious talks between the two countries under UN auspices, Nova reported. As the Macedonian government pointed out, there have so far been conversations and exchange of information, with these meetings at a ministerial level in fact representing a start of the negotiations and a kind of photo finish. The negotiations are expected to last during March too. According to the previous agreements, the talks on Monday and Tuesday most likely focused on the draft deal proposed by Greece.
