Macedonian Economy Minister Kreshnik Bekteshi met Monday the Dutch Ambassador to Macedonia Willem Wouter Plomp. Main point of discussion between the Minister and the Ambassador, as reported by the Ministry of Economy via a press release, was the economic cooperation between Macedonia and the Netherlands, especially in the fields of tourism, agriculture and renewable energy sources. “Macedonia records a history of successful cooperation with the Netherlands. Taking in account the great number of Dutch tourists visiting Macedonia, I believe cooperation is most advanced in the tourism sector. Foreign investments, especially in renewable energy sources, are very important for Macedonia, and I hope we can count on the help from the Netherlands on this field,” Bekteshi said. Plomp reaffirmed the good cooperation in the tourism sector, and expressed interest for development of a long-term plan for making the Ohrid region even more attractive to Dutch tourists.
