Penalties for 84 Employers for not violating Orange phase recommendations

The State Labour Inspectorate and the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy (MTSP) inform that 84 employers were punished with work bans by the inspectors for not respecting the orange alert phase recommendations for the employees to not work in the open between 11:00 a.m. and 05:00 p.m. 67 of the bans we issued to employers from the construction sector, 24 in the agriculture sector, one in the manufacture sector and one in the mining and mineral excavation sector. “Employers are given written statements that they have to stick to the governmental recommendations, or else they shall face penalties. All citizens are advised to not stay out in the sun between 11:00 a.m. and 05:00 p.m., to wear light clothes and drink cool beverages. Employers, employees, sports and day-care centres are recommended to avoid activities in the open between 11:00 a.m. and 05:00 p.m., and if they have to, they should provide refreshments and rest under shadows on every two hours,” they inform from within MTSP. The territory of Macedonia was caught by the heatwave “Lucifer” which brought daily temperatures even above 40 degrees Celsius, and is expected to last till Thursday, for when meteorologists predicts rain and drop of temperatures.
